How to Set the Prescribing Reason on an Order

How to Set the Prescribing Reason on an Order

Overview

Certain medications, such as Tirzepatide and Semaglutide, require a prescribing reason to ensure compliance and proper documentation. If a prescribing reason is not set, an error message will prompt you to add one before submitting the order.

Steps to Set the Prescribing Reason

  1. Sign in to the DrWell by BuildMyHealth platform.
  2. Navigate to the Pending Orders page.
  3. Click the Actions (…) button next to the order and select Submit Order.
  4. Scroll to the Medication Details section.
  5. Click Edit to open the prescribing reason options.
  6. Select the appropriate Prescribing Reason from the drop-down list.
  7. Click Save, then proceed to submit the order.

Troubleshooting

  • If a prescribing reason is required but not set, an error message will appear. Return to the Medication Details section and select a reason before submitting the order.
  • This requirement only applies to Tirzepatide and Semaglutide at this time.
